The Project/Concept:
Bologna, the italian basketball city, and a strong passion for sneakers lead to the creation of this project in 2019, a tribute to the best player ever and to his sneaker’s empire: The Jordan.
The Design:
The first step was the trickiest, to create the back cover of the cards. The inspiration came from the Jordan XX. The designer Thinker Hatfield With tried to resume the story of MJ with the shoes dedicated to the 20th anniversary. Over than 200 icons were incorporated into the shoes: this represents the biography of the legend from his childhood to the peak of the career. At first sight, the graphic it may seem similar to the original shoes one, but it was completely redesigned substituting icons and symbols with others, such as name of Jordan’s child and the famous standing ovation during the last game.
The cards:
From the first Jordan 1 created in 1984 all the models are labeled with a sequence number. All the Jordan from the 1st to the 13th were redesigned and assigned to the corresponding number. Each poker card suits was selected with a specific colour palette to match the main colour of the shoes.
