Heather's Goodbye Page

There is a tradition at the FNP that when someone in the newsroom has worked there for more than a year and puts in their notice, a page designer will make them a goodbye page. Fake stories, past accomplishments, and memorable photos and sayings are solicited from coworkers, and the designer makes a page to represent that person. This is a parting gift for the former employee, and something for them to remember the newsroom and their career by.

This goodbye page was for Heather Mongilio, our local/state health reporter who worked tirelessly to cover the COVID-19 pandemic and who was an amazing baker. I would say her specialty was cupcakes. Both stories were submitted by coworkers, and I did the rest. There's something so satisfying about illustrating gradient frosting.
