Nodes in the cognitive way | concept

In accordance with a Master plan for the Dubendorf airfield, the former runway is suggested to be experienced as a cognitive way through a series of stop points/nodes.
Most of these nodes are chosen in respect to the signs on the runway.
The idea is to let the user remind what was there before.

In relation to the main master plan (see Rhizome Project), nodes break the rigidity of the grid.
They act as voids differing from /breaking the surrounding patches.
a. the stage | acting as a public square/covered area where meeting are enhanced by movable seats. This is a space connected to the surrounding building as a temporary stage/meeting space.
b. the island | acting as a memorial space. An island made by the former runway keeping the helicopter sign in the middle of the marshland.
c. the view | acting as main focus. A glass/transparent corridor let the user experiencing the area from another perspective/point of view (blurring the view and softening the focus). The wetland, vegetation and the surrounding are reflected so many times that the user can lose the perception of what it´s real and what it´s reflected/illusory.
A watching tower let the user have another kind of perspective, from the top.
d. the clearing | shaped by the surrounding forest it acts as a memorial space.  Footprint of the former runway comes out from the grasses. Temporary exhibition/flower beds are allowed in predefined areas.
