Campus Map
The client

Royal Roads University campus is situated on a National Historic Site and as such, has many features for visitors to explore beyond the functional buildings, parking lots and bus stops, such as gardens, historical markers and walking trails, so it was vital that images and contextual information could be added to an online map to create interest and educational value in the map items.

The technology

The solution was to implement a customized Google Map integrated with the website, editable by in-house content editors through the existing Drupal CMS.

The map makes use of layers to allow users to turn on/off displays for buildings, parking, points of interest, etc. and inherits Google’s own functionality to display roads-only or satellite view.
