If you’ve ever been passionate about a cause before, you know that passion is often accompanied by a feeling of wanting to do more. That’s where Josh Weinberg was in mid-2012, a short months after Mayday helped him organize a successful fundraising event for Animal Care and Control’s STAR Fund. The challenge was how to take the success of an one-off event, expand on its basic mission — keeping animals happy, healthy, and out of harm’s way — and create a platform for fundraising throughout the year.

 

With many animal welfare organizations in place that already do great work and have established infrastructures, how do you do something unique to help those organizations better fulfill their missions?
