PROJECT OVERVIEW
Start-up food business entrepreneurs and chefs around the world often don’t have the facilities to produce the type and scale of food that they need to grow their business.

VALUE PROPOSITION
The concept of shared kitchen spaces already exists at a local level, but at the moment it is only used by small businesses owners – Commissaries – in Canada.

There is a high demand for more, as owners hope to take their products from market stalls to supermarket shelves

CoCook is a ‘shared economy’ mobile platform allowing food entrepreneurs to either book or rent out facilities (ie kitchens, food trucks and deep-fat fryers) through an app.

INTERVIEW
- 10 participants
- Market-stall owners

TARGET AUDIENCE
My preconceptions were proved largely correct, with 'not selling enough' a frustration shared by many, as well as production costs being too high. There were, of course, variations in the characters and their motivations, which are collated in two target audience personas below.
USER FLOW - JOURNEY MAPPING
EARLY SKETCHES
Having mapped a user flow that I was happy with, the next step was to ideate design solutions through low-fidelity sketches.

WIREFRAMES
USER TESTING
I asked two potential users how they would navigate through these screens if they were to rent a kitchen space.
- Iterations: 2 rounds.
- User testing: 2 rounds

FEEDBACK ANALYSIS
- Concerns: What is the purpose of the app – How do I know that I'm in the right place? What if I don't know what the options are?  How do I review/manage my bookings?
- Positives: Clear progression and structure, Recognisable formats with map and list features. Free from clutter.
