Skin, Facade, Experience

Skin, Facade, Experience
Undertaken as part of an architectural technology course at Northeastern University, this small module of a building facade uses an insulated double-skin glass curtain wall to reveal and celebrate the tactile and evocative heavy wood timber structural support embedded within. The quilted cross-fastened wood panels fastened between each glass wall provides for visual differences looking through the wall as well as mitigating overheating.
Model, constructed at 1/2"=12" scale. Painted mounting board, stained wood, and acrylic.
