Sympetrum depressiusculum

Sympetrum depressiusculum (common name: spotted darter) is a species of dragonfly of the family Libellulidae.
In Italy is present in the north where it mainly frequents lowland areas, including seasonal water collections, rice fields, swamps and peat bogs.
This male individual was photographed in northern Italy, within a WWF protected area.
In Europe this species is considered vulnerable and its populations are in decline according to the latest report on the IUCN website.
