The purpose of our project is to assist with the design of the OiGO App. This is an app that assists with communication and expression of emotions for people with disabilities. The app is currently available on Android and the sponsor would like us to design an iOS version of the app. The deliverables for the iOS app include creating a cleaner user interface, and a notification system between the therapeutic alliance.
Technical Terms:

Therapeutic Alliance - A group of users between the app that share messages. The 2 different members within are the therapist and the user. The user creates sentences explaining how they feel at the moment. They then send this sentence to all members of the alliance they are part of. The other members can see these messages. Only the therapist has “admin rights” which is the ability to add and remove users from their alliance.

User - The client that will be sharing sentences and feelings with other users and the therapist included in the alliance.

Therapist - The licensed professional assigned to give care to the users. The therapist will have the ability to create alliances, join them, and add/remove users from the alliance.

First Iteration
- Authentication
Displays a username and password entry boxes to login and a new user button to create a new account

- Emotions Screen/ Sentence Construction
Create a sentence on how the user feels or has the therapist ask how the user is feeling

Second Iteration
Alliance Page
Displays a chat system that contains a log of messages sent between members of the alliance

Settings Page
Allows users to make adjustments to the OiGO App
Includes features such as “Account”, “Alliance”, “Notifications”, “About” and “Help”

Third Iteration
Custom Reasons for Emotions
Allows the user to input their own reason for feeling a particular way

Invite by Email for Alliance
Allows therapists in an alliance to add more users to it (say more family members or teachers)

Conclusion

We feel that we have done a great job on the app’s development and its final state. The app is much cleaner than the Android version, and has some more features. We are still in discussion with the sponsor about future development of the app. In its current state, a future Senior Design team can clone the project on GitHub and continue to make improvements on the app.
