Recently, it was announced my school was to be relieving another teacher of his job.
Not something I am entirely unfamiliar with.
This poem, I had written 2 years before and felt it had a
striking connection to the loss I was feeling now.
Then, the COVID-19 outbreak hit the planet.
And millions across the globe were suffering from a worse loss than myself.
What had started as a goodbye from me to my teacher became a
goodbye from me to those experiencing tremendous loss.
To those of you who have lost friend or family.
To those who have lost time and personal safety serving others.
We wish you comfort in your goodbyes.
