John Cage contest (3rd prize)

3rd prize collected.

The aim of the competition was to compose and present a musical piece inspired by selected works of John Cage. The idea of my composition was to reinterpret the figure of the song with accompaniment.
I ammplified the sound of my heart by a stetoscope and a microphone and beating myself sang the song of "The Wonderful Widow of Eighteen Springs". The point of that action was to set free the singer from the accompaniament and break the bariere of the pulse that makes the music sticked to a square beat/tempo.

THE LAUNCH OF THE “CAGE 1, 2, 3” CONTEST
Crossroads Centre together with 4.99 Foundation and Polish Radio 2 would like to announce the music contest “CAGE 1, 2, 3” aiming to compose and present a musical piece inspired by John Cage’s work.
The purpose of the competition is to challenge musicians to compose and present a musical piece inspired by selected works of John Cage. The contest is open to both professional musicians and nonprofessionals active in the field of improvised music.
The competition committee will look for works that present original and "fresh" perspectives on contemporary music and show the relevance and continuing appeal of John Cage’s music and ideas both within and outside the academic world. We hope to inspire artists working with various media to take up these ideas and develop them in ways harmonious with their pursuits. The competition will be announced and promoted in local and national media.
Submitted works will be judged by a jury consisting of specialists in contemporary and improvised music. The winner of the competition will be awarded a prize and his work will be presented during the concert closing the competition in December 2012.
