/ wallet and phone app concept

WHAT:
'Deck' is a product and service concept that consists of a wallet and a phone app, enabling the user to have an efficient and secure method of payment procedure by going cashless and limiting the usage of cards.

WHO:
Our target audience are parents who wants to save money and experience a fast and efficient paying method.

WHY:
We decided to only provide 5 card slots as we want the parents to keep the cards that they often use in one place. The user would be able to check each card's account amount through the phone application, therefore getting to decide which credit card to put into the slots.

HOW:
Under each card slot, a small Bluetooth chip is placed. When connected to the phone app, the card's details and data will be transferred, therefore allowing the user to see how much they have spent, how much they should be saving and such. Using Face Recognition, only the user will be able to enter their account and change their data if needed.

Inspiration:
My mother was a huge inspiration for this project. Growing up (and till this day), I noticed how she always have many cards in one wallet and it is just a chunk of cards, no proper slots for her to compartmentalise. Having a bunch of cards was not only messy, but when it comes to paying at the cashier or finding a member card, it often took some time and I have always felt bad for the queue behind as it took a longer time than required and I thought that it was unnecessary for my mother to always get frantic as the cards were just overwhelming.

Adults always remind their kids to save money for the future as anything could happen and they might need it one day. That was why I added the "saving" and "spending" to the app. I felt that it was an important feature even as adults as they get busy with a ton of responsibilities and might forget about how much they are left with for the month.

As for the tracking chip in the wallet, I was my own inspiration. I have always misplace my items and I always wished there was some sort of a tracking chip so I would know where I misplaced it and retrieve it, instead of spending more money to replace it.

View of card slots fanning outwards:

My team mates and I noticed that some may have difficulty taking cards out of their wallets.
Hence, rather than having the usual card slots, we chose to make it fan outwards as it would be easier to take the card out.

Main screens features of phone app:

Overall:
Using Face Recognition to unlock, each user will have one wallet to one personalised account. User will get to customise features such as their image, know how much balance they have left from all the cards that are in the wallet, and know how many cards are being used (maximum of 5 cards).
Under "Settings", it shows the "saving" and "spending" percentage that the user will set for him/ herself. They get to change the settings of their goals by unlocking using Face Recognition for safety purposes, should they stumble upon a financial crisis or such.

Personalise:
When linking the credit/ debit card to the phone app, the user can tap on a certain card and an enlarged version will appear. Notice how it shows the balance of the specific card and a bar which states the spending and saving percentage as well. Each card will resemble the example. It allows the user to know just how much they are left with easily as all 5 cards can be seen easily. Furthermore, they get to set how much they should spend and save. This allows them to understand what they spend their money on, know how to separate the wants and needs and constantly have a reminder that there is only a certain amount that they should spend.

Bank In:
Under "Savings: Your Cards", it shows a certain amount of money set by the user. This page is specifically designed to keep user more controlled and think about their future. By saving money right now, it would allow them to worry lesser and not struggle so much in the future, especially when it comes to retirement or retrenchment.
In the previous screens, you might have noticed that I kept mentioning about "spending" and "saving". Well, this is where their savings portion comes to play. As they set a certain amount to save, that amount is unable to be touched. There is a little button with a bank icon on it. When the user taps on the logo, the app will run a Face Recognition and confirms if the user wants to send the money to the bank.
At the bottom, there is a Goals and Reminders section. Parents are often so caught up with taking care of their kids and working that they sometimes need a reminder to not forget to buy a certain thing or goal to motivate themselves. They get to key in their own goals and reminders, so it acts as a e-notepad for them.

Tracker:
Afraid that they might misplace their wallet? They don't have to worry too much anymore. The wallet has a built-in tracker chip as well so that they can locate their missing wallet and not have to call banks to cancel their cards just so that someone else would not use it.
By knowing where their missing wallet is at, it would allow them to be more calm and collected and not add on to the amount of stress that they already have.

Thank you for browsing through! :-)
