As we have evolved as a species, Human Equality has become the standard we strive for. We have seen it in the betterment of women's rights, gay rights, and even equal rights in the military. Since so many of us have accepted this equality as normal, why should we discriminate against others for their beliefs? We want everyone to be equal; it's not just the right, but the obligation of each one of us to be a good example.
Many folks believe that it is a man's world, that is how it's always been, and everyone wants to live by his or her own set of rules. We don't need another bunch of people preaching to us, doing what they believe is right and why.
That's the trump card when it comes to human equality. You may believe it is a new day and time for the advancement of human rights, but at the end of the day it is still the same old song and dance of politics. The issue of politics has no place in human equality.
The race has been a factor of every society throughout history. The fact that a particular group of people had to fight for rights, is a story everyone has heard and will continue to hear. We have all heard stories of past injustices against the races. We can't forget them, they are part of our history.
But Human Equality isn't about race. People need to stop looking at the outside world through their lenses of politics. It is not enough to use politics as a way to increase human rights, but we must live by the standards set forth by humanity.
Human rights must be upheld for all of us. We have already established that humans are equal, therefore we must show that equality to others. We must have justice in all things. Where there is injustice in the world, we will find justice in our own world. We have seen the strength of this concept through what happened in the recent elections and how it affected the United States.
We saw that some of the causes were not justifiable to some people. I have heard statements made by some of my colleagues who claim that they did not care if the humans lost. They are stupid; they were misinformed.
This is the problem with many politicians and members of the media who make legitimate claims about humanity. Politicians who talk about human rights, will have to change the way they talk or they will become instant pariahs.
Equality is not an easy concept. Just ask the hippies. Because we have heard so much about equality, we have begun to redefine it. It doesn't mean the same thing anymore, we now have to re-educate ourselves.
It was so easy to claim equality back in the 60's when everyone was marching for women's rights, freedom of speech, equality in the military, and the civil rights movement. People everywhere stood up for their human rights, then suddenly, it was all over, and the activists forgot about it.
It wasn't until people realized that the fight was lost, that the fight over human rights returned with a vengeance. Of course, the politicians were doing the same thing. They forgot that the fight over human rights took place during the previous administration and let it die.
Human equality will not be defeated until we make it. We must teach ourselves to live by our principles and follow the ideals set forth by those who lived by it. It will take us some time, but we can do it, and we will not succumb to hate and discrimination.
