Forgetting (Visual Essay)
My intention was to photograph my grandmother’s house, in the same act of remembrance as in Tarkovsky’s "Mirror". This project being about a house isn't so much about my own memories there, but me realising that this space was on the brick of forgetting. How its symbols, artefacts and overall iconography constantly reminded me of a different age, a different time. I was not desperately longing with a gut of nostalgia, I was fearing the disappearance of this place. I wanted to represent just that, the objects are still there, the quietness is still there, but all of it threatened by the ever-evolving ticking stroke of time.
