This photoshoot was a chalenge! I've never took photos in a studio before and, to make it low cost, I built a home studio with borrowed lights to materialize this idea that lived in my mind for a long time. I staterd from an old desire of capturing brazilian black beauty and its whole range of textures, colors and manners. The glowing skin, the braided hair and the colorfull clothes reminds us a strong and authentic black woman. And in the pictures there was something I've always loved to photograph: personalities. Smile and face smooth signs are authentics. I wanted to show black woman power and pride of her authenticity. My inspiration was the model - and my friend - Janna who acts as a DJ in Brasília and some references of afrobrazilian traditions, setting the female figure in a little exuberant flowers altar.

Este ensaio foi um desafio! Eu nunca havia feito fotos em estúdio e, para economizar, montei um estúdio caseiro com iluminação emprestada para materializar uma ideia que estava na minha mente há muito tempo. Parti de um desejo antigo de registrar a beleza negra brasileira e toda a sua gama de texturas, cores e trejeitos. A pele iluminada, os cabelos trançados, as roupas de cores fortes remetem ao imaginário que veste a mulher negra de personalidade forte. Algo que eu sempre gostei de fotografar: a personalidade. O sorriso e as feições discretas são autênticas. Quis mostrar seu poder de mulher negra altiva em sua autenticidade. Usei como inspiração a figura representada pela modelo - e minha amiga - Janna (@dj.janna) que atua como DJ nas festas de Brasília e referências de costumes da matriz afrobrasileira, colocando a figura feminina num pequeno altar de flores exuberantes.
