Devin Doyle's profile

Northern Illinois Donation to Chicago Fire Department

Drawing on over three decades of experience in the industry, Devin Doyle is a Newport Beach-based fire safety specialist who has founded two companies including the Response Fire Supply. Devin Doyle has been a member of several professional organizations, such as the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA), which aims to improve fire safety across the country.

The organization recently applauded a decision by the Northern Illinois Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board (NIFSAB) for 108 threaded standpipes to over 100 Chicago fire station engines. The donation looks to be used for high rise standpipe training and includes a variety of resources to help prepare firefighters for operations in a high-rise stairwell.

The NFSA notes that the number of companies and stations that needed this training made it virtually impossible to have it done promptly at the fire academy. Chicago Fire Commissioner Richard Ford II highlights that firefighting in a high-rise stairwell presents a unique set of challenges, which is why the new donation can help firefighters learn to tackle them.
