By themselves, the ornament and miniature are some of the most striking types
arts that can tell about the cultural characteristics of the people, their history, and image
thinking and worldview. Armenian culture is very rich and diverse, including
it is known for her applied art. However, a special place in it is occupied by
these two types, ornament and miniature. Each is unique and amazing in its own way and in each there is a certain cultural code that allows us not to confuse it with ornaments of other countries. It is worth noting that the ornament contains a large number of various information. Each element in the ornament and miniature in addition to the decorative one
it also performs epistemological functions, allowing us to see through the prism of this type
learn more about the picture of the world of the people, the features of their life, traditions and customs, about its culture in General. Being one of the richest legacies material culture, ornament also reveals folklore features,  metaphorical features of the aesthetic views of the people, their philosophy, religion, and so on further. P. A. Florensky said: "Ornament is more philosophical than other branches of fine art, for it does not depict individual things, nor their particular relations, but clothe them clearly some of the world's formula of being". Many peoples since ancient times have paid special attention to their environment nature, which is why the active use of images can be traced in art animals, birds, trees, and flowers. The Armenian people are no exception. Mountain nature has a unique variety of flora and fauna. Consequently, plant ornament is the dominant element in this field of applied art.
