Fine Notebooks

Fine Notebooks
The first printed books in history were made in Mainz, Germany, the city on the southern banks of Rhein, surrounded by Riesling vineyards. It was about 5 centuries ago, when Johannes Gutenberg published the first series of so called Gutenberg Bible and ... revolutionised the World. The copies of the first Bibles lie quietly in the super-solid safes in the museum in Mainz downtown, preserved for generations.

A few streets away from there, in the oldest existing Bookbinding workshop, I practiced the craft of book making. During a year of apprenticeship, I designed and crafted several notebooks under the supervision of old, german bookbinding Masters of Mainz.
The outcome is an experience of heritage and mastery embodied in these notebooks. All meticulously designed and manufactured from the finest papers, cloths and leathers, in some cases dated XIX century.
