Maybe black is a color
but I see it as an essence
or an aroma
that she releases
and oh, how it spreads around
like the first sip
of my mother’s morning chai
and the way my sister and I
put up a fight
she’s a rebel
with a hunch of sensitivity
enigma, and creativity
is it something that she feels
or the way she makes her surroundings?
A white mixed inside
making her fusion grey
where lies
all of the lies
disguised
with the truth of her reality
but I wonder, I just do
