"Coins" was a project produced for my Introduction to Illustration class at SCAD. The assignment was to create a simple poster design and a tag line or quote to raise awareness for either homelessness, sex trafficking, or gun control.
I chose to pursue the homelessness issue and created this poster of an impoverished boy who cannot avoid being defecated on by the flock of wallets flying above him. I came up with the tag line, "Coins are not the only change they need," because I truly believe that it will take more than a couple of quarters on our way to work to help change the lives of all the homeless and impoverished men, women, and children in our world.
This piece was created traditionally using pen and ink. The text and some elements of shading and highlighting were added using Adobe Photoshop.
