National Earthquake Memorial Museum

The design project drew inspiration from New Zealand's disastrous history of Earthquakes, inspiring its form through mapping out the location of these major catastrophes. The buildings reinforced concrete form represents the dramatic collision of two tectonic plates smashing against each other. The circulation of the National Earthquake Memorial Museum aims to take the inhabitant through the stages of grief referencing each of New Zealand's major earthquakes, through the museum learning new techniques and safety advice to the hope of a new future as they look over the glorious Wellington harbour.
