The restaurant I chose to rebrand is called El Diablo. It is the world’s only volcanic restaurant. It is located in Tenerife, Spain on the Canary Islands. El Diablo is in a National Park where the logo is of a devil and in a country where volcanos are associated with hell. All of the brand colors are derived from the geography of the restaurant. The brown is from the ashy soil, the red is from the iron in the volcano. The logo itself is based on how they cook the meat over the volcanic pit, with skewers, so I chose to skewer the Type, except with a pitchfork. I created a menu and matching coaster set of the primary and secondary logos. It was a fun process and I spent a few hours in the woodshop, the laser cutter and the spray booth in order to make it.
