Earlier in 2018, I was asked to design Israel's first retailtech landscape—an infographic covering the 100 most promising startups in the Israeli retailtech sector. Straight away I knew I wanted this to be an experience rather than a bunch of sorted logos. I was particularly inspired by those huge Renaissance paintings full of little details that you see in museums.

I wanted to visually represent the 14 pre-defined categories as clearly as if there were no given titles, within a portrayed scene that tells many little stories. After conceptualizing and approving the scene, I went on to combine, heavily modify and draw all illustrations in contemporary style. Next came the manual vectorization of nearly a hundred different logos, and their alignment by the sub-pixel—each with its own optical "center of gravity".
