Gusel and Gulnara Nurgalievy are the costume designers behind the stage looks of B-2 band. Два джи дая is a word-play on their initials translated from Russian as two jedis. They commissioned me to design their logo and typographic compositions to be printed on performers’ clothing labels and limited edition merch.

At first we explored hieroglyph-like letterforms to convey the esthetics of unexpected. The costumes that are in fact very thoughtful look impulsive. That relates to the emotional music of B-2 and their expressive performing manner. So is the final design which combines unique signature-style lettering with techy OCR One font by Tagir Safayev, Paratype. The idea of a two teams collaboraton is always illustrated here.
