For nine years, various individuals and groups battled Northern Pass to protect New Hampshire scenic beauty. As an employee of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire's Forest, I can only claim a small part of our victory. Still, I was invited to a celebration at one of our estates in Bethlehem where I took the pictures and videos I used to make this film.
Someone had the idea of using a balloon to help show what the visual impact one-hundred-thirty-five foot towers would have had on the White Mountains. I once saw the balloon on a trailer and it was atleast six feet in diameter.
At the celebration I heard it being called "The Balloon of Truth."
And, of course, some of the people who made it possible.
