Overview
The task of this project is to take a 1927 film poster by German Graphic Designer, Jan Tschichold and redesign it in the style of other famous designer. The three designers that I choose was Lucian Bernhard, Saul Bass and Stefan Sagmeister.

Tasks & Responsibilities
• Poster Design
• Hand Lettering
• Illustration
• Collage

American Graphic Designer, Saul Bass (1920-1996) had a very significant design style in the film industry that involved minimalistic simplified and symbolic cut-out imagery that visually communicated a significant theme of the film, many which achieved psychological and emotional effects to the viewers.  To replicate Bass' style, I illustrated a drawing of Napoleon in a cut-out style, explored with block-like typography and included texture like noise & speckles to convey the age of the poster.
German Designer, Lucian Bernhard (1883-1972) influenced the design style for Plakastil, which uses flat colors and reductive imagery, presented against a pale, monochrome background. To replicate Bernhard's style, I illustrated a reductive drawing of Napoleon, hand-lettered the main poster text, and played with texture to convey the age of the poster.
New York-based Graphic Designer, Stefan Sagmeister (1962-) is known for his ability to conceptualize original ideas that involves banality with do-it-yourself, grungy handwritten text and an added bit of humor. To convey his style, I explored various handwritten text and various collage-like layout to convey the do-it-yourself feel.
