'Calendar 2019 Birthstone' is a short assignment completed as a part of the graphic design
course conducted during MDes at DoD, IIT Guwahati.
The brief of the assignment was to identify a particular theme, few physical forms and twelve colours that can be associated to each month. The forms and colours then should be abstracted to form visuals that can be used in a calendar. Each calendar page should tell more than just the days and dates; more about the form, the colour, its mood and feeling, and the theme.
Inspired by the precious birth gemstones that are associated with each month of the year,
'Calendar 2019 Birthstone' is an attempt to show a representation of the perfect cut suited for each precious gemstone, its raw natural form, its most popular colour and the cosmic energy associated with it and its positive effects that the gem endows upon its wearer.
