The White Egg | Problem Finding
This project is not about eggs. It is about research and how research processes are essential for getting me to see and think differently about everyday items like eggs. Ideas that I generated are based on my personal experiences. Knowledge tends to rely on assumptions, biases, and is usually limited to what I have seen or done in the past.
The White Egg | Metaphor
The metaphor "white egg" stands for a white privileged male (a student athlete at Stanford University), who was arrested on attempted rape and penetration with a foreign object charges. He was sentenced to six months in jail due to the sexual assault of an unconscious woman behind a campus trash bin. He was released for "good behavior" after serving only three months.
Research Process:
Both theoretical and empirical research—these lead to unexpected ideas, reveals unforeseen opportunities, increases knowledge and skill sets, and improve one’s courage for creative risk-taking.
