Art Direction + Brand Identity + Social Media Design

I developed the brand identity and art direction for a new social impact initiative called “STEMpower Our Girls”.

STEMpower Our Girls aims to empower young Filipinas in the fields of STEM through STEM talks, career caravans and by building and nurturing a broader community that will support young women in STEM.

For the initiative’s logo and art direction, I wanted it to have an empowering yet maintain a quirky look. It was inspired by the the look of vintage Western comics.

Inspiration for overall visual direction

Color & Typography

For this project I worked on the brand identity and art direction of the whole campaign. STEMpower Our Girls needed branding that was cohesive, eye-catching, and relatable for young girls as well as their parents and teachers.

Considering all of this, I drew inspiration from the superhero comics genre for our logo design as well as other graphic elements. I also intentionally avoided using the color pink to avoid gender stereotyping.
