Week 4: Persuasive Posters
Image Title:
Small Tasks Makes A Big Difference

Technique:
Pencil Drawing

Process: The poster is focused on Families with young kids. I chose to focus the issue on recycling as it is a very important issue in today's society. The reason as to why I choose to focus on young families is that they may want to teach their kids the importance of recycling and by having a poster that highlights this it may give them the motivation to do that.

Rational:
A poster about recycling and how small tasks like recycling make a big difference for the environment.

Reflection:
I chose to center the arrows as it is the main image of the poster and is an iconic symbol for recycling. By having the words at the top of the poster followed by the main image and then more words at the bottom allows the audience to easily read the poster. By having the statement "Small Tasks Makes A Big Difference," persuades the audience that by simply doing simple tasks like recycling their bottles will make a big impact on the environment. What I could improve on in the poster is maybe try a different statement that may be more persuasive.

Image Title:
0% Waste

Technique:
Pencil Drawing

Process:
For the main image of the poster I choose to focus on a leaf and in each leaf it has the following words- reduce, reuse and recycle and an image underneath that represents the process of recycling.

Rational:
A poster about the process of  recycling with the tile "0% waste."

Reflection:
The reason as to why I chose to have three images representing the different process of recycling is that it will show the parents that recycling is not that hard and in the process persuade them to teach their kids the importance of recycling. By having the title in big bold letters will help catch the attention of the targeted audience. An improvement that could be made is to make the layout even by maybe having some text at the bottom of the poster and also to rearrange the image.

Image Title:
Rethink The Future

Technique:
Pencil Drawing

Process:
For the main image I decided to include an image of the hand holding the world with the title "Rethink The Future," followed by the words reduce, reuse and recycle.

Rational:
A poster about how you should rethink the future for the environment highlighted with the words reduce, reuse and recycle.

Reflection:
I chose the statement "Rethink The Future," as it is a persuasive statement and that  the words may persuade the parents to think about their childrens' future . I chose to have a hand holding the world as it connects with the statement and also hints at the worlds' future. The arrow circling the world symbolizes that recycling is the answer. An improvement that could be made is to make the text bolder so that it stands out more in order to capture the targeted audiences' attention.

Image Title:
Rethink The Future

Technique:
Illustrator using one colour

Process:
The poster has big bold letters with an illustrative drawing of hands holding the earth surrounded by the recycling arrows.

Rational:
A poster about how you should rethink the future for the environment highlighted with the words reduce, reuse and recycle.

Reflection:
The reason as to why I think this is the best idea is that it is the most persuasive out of all the ideas and that it makes the audience think about their future, their kids future and the future of the world. I made the text bold as it would easily capture my audiences' attention. An area that could be improved on is maybe making the main image and text a bit smaller.

Image Title:
Rethink The Future

Technique:
Illustrator using full colour

Process:
The poster has big bold letters with an illustrative drawing of hands holding the earth surrounded by the recycling arrows. The colour theme is blue, black, white and green. The text and the image is highlighted with the colour white. The font that was used for the text is Bernard MT Condensed. In order to create the poster I first hand drew the image, and then scanned it and opened it up in illustrator and began drawing it using the pen tool.

Rational:
A poster about how you should rethink the future for the environment highlight ed with the words reduce, reuse and recycle.

Reflection:
The reason as to why I chose this colour theme is that it relates to the environment especially the blues and greens. I choose to highlight the text and image with white is because it makes it stand out, capturing the targeted audiences' attention. The reason  as to why I choose the font is that it is strong and bold in appearance depicting the text to be more persuasive. An improvement that could be made is experimenting with the layout more by moving the text and images around.
