With the main constraint being to design a square scarf, "love" became the central idea. The first step was looking at what other cultures used as symbols for love. 

The scarf is madder and indigo-dyed with silk screened roses, embroidered shells, and a felted celtic knot.  Romantic relationships are usually seen as the binding of two people, so two dyes were used to simulate that thought.
