The goal of this project is not about not doing drugs, although not doing them is a very valid and ultimately the safest option. But it’s about knowing why you want or don’t want to do a certain drug(or all of the drugs), and if you do decide so, to do it in the safest manner. Right now, people are told that they are bad people if they do drugs, and that bad people should be in prison. That drug usage always mean abuse of it and that they will end up being addicts. By constantly saying that, people started to believe it and it discouraged people to educate themselves on the matter. Drug abuse is a real problem, but the solution shouldn’t be punishment. It should be prevention and education on the risks attached to them and giving truthful unbiased informations. By slacking on the education about drug usage and the risks, funding is being cut down because people believe the solution is as easy as saying no (Just Say No). So instead of teaching people to automatically say no, we should be teaching how to use drugs as safely as possible. And after researching about all of this I thought the best way to respond and bring awareness was to make posters that would bring you to a drug awareness website.

This project was for a school assignment and the website on those posters have been changed. Here is the website that inspired me to find a response. www.heretohelp.bc.ca
