Summer at he Chicago Botanical Gardens

Summer @ The Chicago Botanical Garden
Color at it's Best
One of my favorite places in summer is the Chicago Botanical Gardens. On a perfect summer day I throw my camera gear in the car and drive down to see what nature settings I can capture. I like to visit often and take as many shots per visit as possible. These photos were taken with my Pentax K10 and a variety of lenses.

One Flower World
The first photo depicts a single flower captured for clarity.  I call it a one flower world because one lonely flower is in focus with the rest of the frame providing background and contrast. What a perfect shot on a partly sunny day.

Red Rose
Shot with a cloudy backdrop, I used a different lens to soften the rose in contrast to the background.  The lightning and lens make the rose look almost surreal.

Confetti
Just for fun I wanted a splash of color so as I was walking by I noticed this splash of variety.  After the shot I realized it looked like mirrors were used. I can assure you these shot are all straight from the camera. Confetti is an array of summer color that again provides one single flower in focus.

As always none of these photos have been retouched or modified on a computer. These were tkane straight from the camera to the prints.
