This project is my final task for a bachelor degree. I chose to create illustrated Lithuanian's poetry book. And Simonas Bernotas fitted to me. He is a young Lithuanian poet born in 1993, Kaunas, Lithuania. He studied for Lithuanian philology and Spanish language at Vilnius University. Since childhood, he loved to write poems. Right now he participates in various poetry events and contests.
My book project main goal was to reveal the lack of need for young Lithuanian poets poetry in public space. So I decided to choose him.
Simonas poetry is full of various emotions, forms, and spaces. I choose a RED color to express his poems about the past, memories about old times. And BLUE color to show poems who mentions the modern world, or confused person in urban life full of noise. Watercolor was chosen to associate it with a dynamic feeling of poets creativity.
The main design of the book is minimalistic. Simply giving the reader a unique experience!
