Gotlib modern is a gothic style typeface.
The word gothic refers to a particular type of style seen in architecture, painting, sculpture and music. When referring to Gothic, Fraktur or Old English fonts, we're talking about Blackletter typeface. Blackletter is defined as a term used to explain and illustrate scripts from the Middle Ages.
I come from Prague and this town has a very deep Gothic history. Gothic architecture and art can be found in the historic center. In today's modern age we are witnessing how this historic part of the city is part of modern architecture and way of life. It's a beautiful example of how two completely different historical styles work together. That's exactly what I tried to do with my new character. Gotlib modern is as I hope an example of the art of the last time can be transferred to the modern form.
