Into the Night - Game Concept Art

'Into the Night' is a fantasy game project based on a narrative about Self Worth, mainly for teenagers. The concept circulates around the fact that the world highly values achievements, status, and appearance when judging their own self worth. However, in the end, does achieving those things make us trully happy? When will we finally get satisfied? Those things can’t be in our possession forever. If those things are not the right factors to determine self worth, then how else do we see our self worth?

The idea of Self Love and Self Acceptance is not an uncommon thing to the society today. When we google about ‘Self Acceptance’, ‘Self Esteem’, and ‘Self Love’, we often see solutions and positive perspectives of how we should determine our own self worth. However in reality, many people still suffer from low self esteem, because they are certain about their unworthiness. Therefore, rather than proposing  solutions and encouragement, I would like to make a story that aims to give people a bigger perspective about self worth, providing a deeper reasons of the ‘why’ we are worthy. A story that tackles about world’s perpective of individual’s worthiness.
This game project also talks about how we can start with self acceptance -
the willingness to make a change, and the practice of mindfulness regarding the negative thoughts we are having. That being said, self acceptance in actuality, is not easy. It is a journey where an individual has to face their deepest insecurities, while we rather have the tendency to run away from our negative emotions instead.
