Using inspiration from the book “Low Life” by Luc Santé we had to choose an aspect that spoke to us most about 19th century New York and develop a three dimensional typeface from it. I chose the subject of mob mentality, and how mobs were igniting New York City architecture on a whim. Innocent bystanders began lighting candles in their windows to plea with the mob until the entire city had candles in every window.
