The Continuous of Cactus
Starting from the idea of the connection between human beings and their land. I have started using installation art, and performance art, to create art works that express the suffering of Palestinian people and afflicted people too.
In Arabic, the word for cactus -saber- is the same as the word for patience.
The Cactus is a special plant that live a very long time, and it could grow almost everywhere. In fact, Cactus has an incredible ability to endure heat and drought, where its cells shrink and then rebuild themselves by the water stored inside its fibers. The Cactus doesn’t wait for the skies to rain, instead it adapts itself to the environmental conditions around it. And all of that makes it represented as many iconic human symbols such as patience, resistance and victory. All of which made it a suitable surface for the embodiment of deep human pain that worries modern life.
