I used the Unity software to activate the environment.
I imported an .obj file of a microwave from Turbo Squid and the particles I 3D modeled in the Maya software.
Within the space, I included fashion pieces of manipulated polygons on “A-pose” mannequins. “A-pose” being the pose used for 3D characters in gaming environments.
I implemented the Oculus SDK and loaded the presets into Unity to allow for a the Oculus headset (of choice) as the user experience.
There is no food present in this space. I wanted to subvert the noted “instant” and fast food/microwavable food and recontextualize the space with elements of elitistism, inaccessbility and inpracticality. The Hello_Microwave establishes a new ephemera; belonging to themes of absurdism, and comical sophistication.
The same can be inferred for fast fashion or ready-to-wear garments. As none of these dressforms display conventional wear.
The toilet placed out on the rotisserie which is supposed to behave like a balcony, is intended where the viewer may sit on when they initially start the game.
