This series was produced for my final thesis at Sheridan College, as a project meant to highlight and bring awareness to endangered marine animals. Most of these animals were chosen because they aren't receiving adequate attention from the media, and are dying in silence. The paintings are meant to celebrate and highlight these beautiful animals that are nearly being lost to us by depicting them thriving in their ideal habitat, and engaging the viewer in wanting to preserve such a beautiful sight.

All pieces were painted traditionally with gouache on heavy watercolour paper, and were then scanned and brought into Photoshop to be colour-corrected, edited, and cleaned up. Using Kyle Webster's gouache and pencil brushes, shadows and highlights were accentuated and added to bring further depth to the original paintings. Some areas were painted over in Photoshop to achieve brighter and more saturated colours that would have been more difficult to produce in traditional media.
