Open Plan Learning is a passion project of mine that was started so we could help children in schools achieve a better education through play-based learning (educational games, etc.).
The logo consists of text with a ‘wreath’ of yellow leaves around the O. These yellow leaves represent the six key development areas that we concentrate on when designing resources. These key development areas are creativity, critical thinking, communication, open-mindedness, literacy, and problem-solving.
For the main colour theme, I chose a bright yellow colour which reminded me of two things: yellow pencils, which represents education, and sunshine, which represents optimism and opportunity.
I also incorporated simple child-like illustrations as an extra element of the branding. These are used on the website, social media channels, and printed materials such as brochures and business cards.
