Meme Attack: An Axure Game

Meme attack: a story of love and loss
Opening Screen
My most recent project was to create a interactive story using website building program Axure. My team and I decided to do a game based around memes with some Dance Dance Revolution like combat. My personal task was to create a the games story, and help find, and remake current memes
Flow chart
My main inspiration for the story of this game came from WW2. In the game you play as Sir Johnathan Edwards, who in actuality is not any one special. You are tasked with defeating Shaggy and his Meme Army who have been going around on the Reddit page killing memes. This was both a cruel joke on the term "dead meme" but heavily drew inspiration from Kristallnacht (The Night of Broken Glass).
Story examples
The main struggle I had with this assignment was trying to keep the game humorous, while keeping the general tone dark. If you properly clear the game you are left seeing your fallen enemies and the text reads:

As you look around you, you see the havok caused not only by Shaggy but by yourself...
You walk along the subreddit remembering the lives lost and being thanked by those whose lives were saved.
You're a hero Sir Johnathan Edwards... But you payed the heros price...

As much as its a joke, I feel like the ending really hits the player with the hard reality. That in the end no one wins. There is only loss.
Combat layout & Combat in action
Despite all our challenges between copyright issues with originally using publicly made GIFs, and our one team member spending days coding the combat in Axure, I feel like this project really came together well and showed all of our strong suits.
