As a study of packaging design, I designed a modern chocolate box that represents a region where cacao is produced. I chose to represent South America and focus on past cultures of the Inca, Aztec and Mayan empires. The FairTrade logo indicates that the product supports the producers of cacao and supports fair working conditions for them.
My target market is Australians who enjoy purchasing and eating chocolate and who have a desire to purchase environmentally sustainable packaging. An FSC logo will be displayed to show that the packaging is made of biodegradable, food-safe and environmentally friendly materials, to appeal to sustainability conscious consumers.
