"Linked" Collaborative Outdoor Sculpture
"Linked" is an outdoor sculpture that was made in collaboration with Ryan Kelley in 2018. We found inspiration in the way that machines move and function. By sourcing disused bicycle parts from local Massachusetts shops we were able to emulate an assembly of machines that appears to be in motion. Welded bicycle chain links wind throughout an array of steel hoops and hold the gears in tension. Each assembly is separated by its own steel frame, yet they are connected by chain links to form the parts of a larger machine.
The sculpture was selected to be exhibited this year at the Newburyport Art Associate Range Lights Community Sculpture Garden.
