Two experiences at a time
When using VR, we typically have two experiences. The first is to watch the video, the second is to enjoy the game.
When watching video, you need to immerse yourself in the video itself, so there is little movement, and you need various actions to enjoy the game. So, the project was designed to have two types of products that can be transformed to meet both of these experiences.

VR을 사용할 때, 우리는 대표적으로 두 가지의 경험을 하게 된다. 첫번째는 영상을 관람하는 것이고, 두번째는 게임을 즐기는 것이다.
영상 관람을 할 때에는 영상물 자체에 100% 몰입을 해야하기 때문에 움직임이 거의 없는 반면에, 게임을 즐길 때에는 다양한 액션이 필요하다. 그래서 이 프로젝트는 두 가지의 경험을 동시에 충족시킬 수 있도록, 제품이 두 가지 형태로 변형되는 구조로 디자인하였다.
영상 관람을 할 때에는 영상물 자체에 100% 몰입을 해야하기 때문에 움직임이 거의 없는 반면에, 게임을 즐길 때에는 다양한 액션이 필요하다. 그래서 이 프로젝트는 두 가지의 경험을 동시에 충족시킬 수 있도록, 제품이 두 가지 형태로 변형되는 구조로 디자인하였다.
High resolution and Optimal portability
This is the first VR with 4K resolution (3840x1080). As it has a high-level function, I have been worried about the weight of the product and the balance between the weight. Since the weight has a great influence on the portability and long-time use of the product, we have carefully studied the product structure to solve the two problems.

높은 해상도와 최적의 휴대성
이 제품은 4K 해상도(3840x1080)를 최초로 적용한 VR이다. 고사양의 기능을 가지는 만큼, 제품의 무거운 무게와 무게의 배분에 대해서 많은 고민을 하였다. 무게는 제품의 휴대성과 장시간사용에 큰 영향을 끼치기 때문에, 두 가지의 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 제품 구조에 대한 디자인부터 면밀하게 진행하였다.
이 제품은 4K 해상도(3840x1080)를 최초로 적용한 VR이다. 고사양의 기능을 가지는 만큼, 제품의 무거운 무게와 무게의 배분에 대해서 많은 고민을 하였다. 무게는 제품의 휴대성과 장시간사용에 큰 영향을 끼치기 때문에, 두 가지의 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 제품 구조에 대한 디자인부터 면밀하게 진행하였다.

Since the heavy weight product has to be used for a long time, the headband is designed so that it can support the head with a stable support.
In consideration of the size of various head parts of the user, a "Rotary type Length Adjustment" device which can easily adjust the length of the band is applied.

장시간 동안 박진감 넘치는 액션을!
첫 번째 구조는, 긴 시간 동안에 다양한 액션을 박진감 넘치게 즐길 수 있는 “크라운 구조”이다.
무거운 무게의 제품을 장시간 사용해야 되기 때문에, 헤드 밴드로 머리를 감아서 안정적으로 지지해 줄 수 있는 구조로 디자인하였다.
사용자의 다양한 두상의 크기를 고려해서, 밴드의 길이를 간편하게 조절할 수 있는 “로터리식 길이 조절 장치"를 적용하였다.

Because the product can be easily folded and unfolded, and it is very easy to wear, the structure that enables users to enjoy contents easily and comfortably in various places is adopted. In addition, when the release button is pressed, the product is easily disassembled/assembled, making it easy to carry with a small size.

두 번째 구조는, 사용자가 어디에서나 간편하게 콘텐츠를 즐길 수 있도록 “안경 구조”를 적용하였다. 제품을 간편하게 접고 펼칠 수 있고 착용도 매우 간편하기 때문에, 다양한 장소에서 쉽고 편안하게 콘텐츠를 즐길 수 있는 구조를 적용하였다. 또한 릴리즈 버튼을 누르면 제품이 손쉽게 분해/조립이 되기 때문에, 작은 크기로 쉽게 휴대가 가능하다.

Rather than a gorgeous and beautiful appearance, "the familiar design" that allows the user to fully immerse the content in the product is the top priority. It is designed to be calm and luxurious by utilizing the anodized aluminum as a point material based on the calm atmosphere of dark tone.

화려하고 아름다운 외관보다는, 사용자가 제품에 컨텐츠에 완전히 몰입할 수 있는 “익숙한 디자인”을 최우선으로 하였다. 어두운 톤의 차분한 분위기를 기본으로 하고 아노다이징 처리가 된 알루미늄을 포인트 소재로 활용하여, 차분함과 고급스러움을 느낄 수 있도록 디자인하였다.

So, before proceeding with the design, we simulated the detailed situations that the user could do by proceeding with a structure study that meets two usability. Fitting test is a very important process because there are various headings by race, country and ethnicity. We printed 3D print samples of various sizes and conducted fitting tests to find the optimal size. Based on the derived size, we redesigned the final design and reflected appropriate material.

완벽한 피팅을 위한, 3D Printing 프로세스
인종, 국가, 민족 별로 다양한 두상이 있기 때문에, 피팅테스트는 매우 중요한 과정이다. 다양한 사이즈의 3D Print 샘플을 출력하고 피팅테스트를 진행해서, 최적의 사이즈를 찾아냈다. 도출된 사이즈를 기반으로 최종 디자인을 다시 진행하고, 적절한 소재를 반영하였다.
