As Africa develops so does the utilization of technology in creating solutions for existing problems and challenges. Daily, technology is launched in different parts of Africa to find immediate sustainability as seen with institutions like the African Drone academy that's in partnership with UNICEF and the Government of Malawi that utilizes drones and data for development and humanitarian purposes.  Ghana, with the use of drones to deliver medical supplies to remote areas and Tanzania's off-the-grid solar home system that provides electricity to rural and low-income earners.
Therefore familiarising the design aspects of a technology base magazine is important as in African print as it's still the best way to reach a large target audience. Africa has over 100 technological hubs, the most notable being Nigeria's Computer Village harboring thousands of innovative minds crafting new technological applications, platforms, and ideas that are impactful to the continent.
African's love of technology is seen with the growing mobile and telecommunications companies. Other mobile and telecommunications company have seen the demand and has started developing cellphone with Africa as the main target audience.

Moreover, over the years technology funds have been on the rise in Africa which has resulted in a ripple effect. According to a report by Disrupt Africa in 2016, African tech start-ups raised funding above US$129 million, with the number of start-ups securing funding up by 17% as compared to the previous year. African Tech Startups Funding Report 2016, further reveals substantial growth in the number of startups to raise funding. Savannah Fund, a seed capital fund, making investments of between US$25,000-US$500,000, in early-stage high growth web and mobile technology start-ups in sub-Saharan Africa. 
Fellowships and mentorship programs to young tech enthusiasts amplify the continent with leading global tech companies for internships and sometimes job opportunities. Some tech fellowships and mentorship programs include Andela, African Technology Foundation, and many others operating within different countries in the continent. 

Governments and non-governmental organizations realize the potential that lies within technology in Africa as infrastructures that support technology and embrace more use of it in service delivery and governance, while development partners, such as World Bank, are putting in funding and policies that support growth in the technology sector.

This is the driving force behind the numerous networking events and conferences for the tech industry across Africa. These opportunities offer interactive sessions, collaborative opportunities, as well as business opportunities to the participants.  AfricaCom is one of the events which brings together tech enthusiasts and senior decision-makers from the technology sector from all over the continent for a conference in Johannesburg.
Some of the most successful start-up tech companies have roots in Africa and as a result, Africa prides itself in having numerous successful tech start-ups that have endured the test of time.
10 years later the start-ups are still providing solutions to some pressing socio-economic and communications problems. The success has been driven by having a pan-African scope in service delivery. The startups include Ushahidi founded in Kenya, Instabug in Egypt, RoamSmart in Tunisia, Skyrove in South Africa, Njorku in Cameroon, Bonglive in Tanzania, among many others.
