PRINTMAKING WITH ACCESSORIES

PATTERN MAKING
Tinkering with old accessories and found objects to make tools for pattern print making.
Starting with accessories like hairbands, bracelets, earrings, statement necklaces and hair clips.
The 3-D element to this tool helps print in varied thickness when used in angles.
This bracelet gave an interesting 'snake skin' texture when rolled on the sheet with paint.
Rings and Buttons glued to a hairclip - different thickness in pattern!
Using an earring to create a pattern by dabbing it with paint on the paper.
Rolling the neckpiece in paint and then onto the paper gave an interesting line texture. To match this texture, I used the hairband and the threaded bracelet dipped in paint to print more patterns.
Using an old Apple Earpods box, I directly stamped the inside of the box to see the textures made with plastic forms. For the lid of the box, I glued a cotton string in a curly pattern, and then took its prints.
Using an empty glass bottle, I wrapped some cotton thread around it leaving little spaces in between each turn. Rolling it first in paint then on paper in different directions, I could make some interesting textures and patterns.
