Wood Family & Dollhouse

Wooden Family & Dollhouse
This was a personal project gifted to a friend’s young daughter. The wooden peg dolls represent the family—mother, father, and daughter. Doll details were created using a wood burning tool. The dolls were then painted and a final coat of sealant was applied, to ensure durability and longevity. The smallest doll measures approximately 1 1/2 inches tall, while the other two dolls measure approximately 3 inches tall.
I repurposed an old suitcase, ripping out the old liner and replacing it with a durable fabric, to create the “doll house.” All other items were created using found objects, paper craft, and wooden things. Walls were coated with magnetic paint and covered with various types of art craft paper. Wall decorations were secured to a magnetic backing, which could be moved around throughout the walls of the house. Walls were constructed to fold and fit within the suitcase, along with all other items. Have dollhouse, will travel!
