Flowserve: iOS, Android, and Windows App
CLIENT
Flowserve manufactures and services fluid motion control solutions for the world's toughest, most critical applications. Industries served: Power, Oil and Gas, Chemical, Water, and General Industry.

PROJECT
Create a native app for iOS, Android, and Windows with Ionic and Cordova that would enable their B2B clients to utilize Bluetooth technology to increase efficiency when collecting, reporting, and maintaining equipment through data collection in a meaningful way.

PROBLEM
Our client wanted to utilize Bluetooth technology, over the manual, arduous process they currently utilized, to streamline the way their gauges gathered, transmitted, and presented this data, so that it could be analyzed accordingly in a more timely fashion.

SOLUTION
Amongst a team of three excellent developers, a great scrum master, two client service leads, and four key stakeholders, we all sat in a large meeting room in a horseshoe table configuration, never leaving for lunch for two weeks straight. We strategized, organized, facilitated, designed, and began development on what would prove to be a very valuable and rewarding solution. Through discovery, I was able to map the user journey and service blueprint for multiple device types, as well as, generate proto-personas. We then carried out design sessions to brainstorm and diverge on ideas from everyone on the team. After that we converged on the solution that would allow a factory worker to open our finished app within range of a beacon device, tap to download the data and move on to the next beacon. Once the factory worker finished their rounds, they would then return to their work station to upload the data dowloaded, so they could analyze the data and run their factories more efficiently. I produced clickable, high fidelity wireframes in Axure, so that the key stakeholders could actually open their phone and see how the app would function. Once the designs were approved, I then began to create the redlines for our group of developers, as well as high fidelity screen flows of the entire app. I was very proud of the final visual design, behavior, and interaction because of the way it harmonized with iOS, Android, and Windows design standards, but mostly I was proud that we were able to create an app that was valuable, meaningful, and maybe even disrupted design in their multiple billion dollar industries.
