As a rap artist and designer of his own brand, "Odd Future", he has been a huge inspiration through my journey as a graphic designer. Creating this illustration was made with intentions to produce items to sell, such as canvas prints, notebooks, stickers, t-shirts, and more. 

This piece took about 5 months to illustrate with countless revisions and mockups. This is the first design in my iconic artist collection, I plan to create about 5 more. 

The goal with this Tyler the Creator illustration is to incorporate it in products for purchase but ultimately the dream would be to work with him personally on a project. 

My process involves diving right into illustrator quickly and revising heavily along the way. The facial features are created with various strokes, gaussian blur, and the pen tool. Being the focal point of the design, I wanted Tyler to be extremely detailed and well produced. With the focal point being so detail oriented, I loved bringing in geometric shapes to balance the organic feeling with the hardness of the shapes.
